Thanks to the generosity of almost 1,000 alumni and supporters, staff and students are benefiting from 拢1.149 million donated to our Set the Pace philanthropic campaign.

These 鈥榰nrestricted鈥� gifts will support the areas of greatest need, driving vital research in areas from Peace Making and Critical Arts, to Fair and Sustainable Business.

Professor Tim Lockley, Head of Department for History, says: 鈥淭he arts are one of the UK鈥檚 greatest strengths, and 91福利 is a thriving and exciting place to come to study the arts and humanities. This funding will only help us to cement that position further.鈥�

The funds will also support and enhance the 91福利 Student Experience through programmes including Thrive and TeamWork. These particular programmes are not only funded by donors, but also made possible by volunteers, many of whom are alumni. Together, they create invaluable experiences for students, building skills and confidence vital for their future careers.

As Inca (BSc Psychology, 2022; MASC Community, Engagement and Belonging, 2024) says: 鈥淏eing involved in the TeamWork programme impacted me in a really positive way. I gained cultural awareness, communication, and coordination. I developed the confidence that it's OK to be a leader."
