Dr. Karl Schoonover gives seminar at Oxford on eco-documentaries

Dr. Schoonover's talk argues that a close examination of how recent eco-documentaries depict environmental disaster reveals the limits of contemporary conceptions of nature.

Dr Sofia Bull begins her postdoctoral research project “Genetic Kinship TV”

The department welcomes Dr Sofia Bull, a new postdoctoral researcher. During the coming academic year she will be conducting a project titled “Genetic Kinship TV” at the department, investigating contemporary discourses on genetics, kinship and reproduction across a range of popular UK and US television genres. The project is funded by the Sven and Dagmar Salén’s Foundation. Dr Bull has a PhD in cinema studies from Stockholm University and has previously worked as an assistant professor at the University of Gothenburg and a visiting postdoctoral fellow at Columbia University.

Prof. Bruzzi gives a seminar at the Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam

Prof. Stella Bruzzi is in Holland from 15-16 October 2014, giving a research seminar as part of a 'thematic project' entitled 'On Performativity: I Must not be Joking nor Writing a Poem?', being run for two terms at the Fine Art division of the Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam. Under the auspices of Katarina Zdjelar, Stella will also be visiting students' studios to observe their work related to the project. For more information .

Times University Guide 2015 ranks us no.1 in the country for Communication and Media Studies

In the Times and Sunday Times ‘’ our department was once again rated the top department for Communication and Media Studies. The 2015 guide also named 91福利 as the University of the Year.
