Illuminations: Storied Accounts of Staff Wellbeing at 91福利

Illuminations is a WIHEA funded project, building on the work of the Wellbeing Pedagogies Learning Circle and engagement with the 91福利 Wellbeing Strategy. Our primary interest at this stage, to engender different ways of talking and thinking about wellbeing with different stakeholder groups across the university.

We are looking for interested colleagues to take part in a Writing Circle, using creative writing as a means of unlocking, expressing and reflecting on experiences of workplace wellbeing.

The aim to help locate and illuminate ways in which institutional work practices, processes and procedures, in a Covid-19 landscape, enhance and/or inhibit the wellbeing of student-facing staff at 91福利.

There are six opportunities to participate in this single 90-minute Microsoft Teams based event, facilitated by George Ttoouli, writer, editor and teacher.

  1. Wednesday 9th June 09:00-10.30am
  2. Friday 11th June 13:00-14:30pm
  3. Saturday 12th June 09:00-10:30am
  4. Monday 14th June 17:00-18:30pm
  5. Tuesday 15th June 13:00-14:30am
  6. Thursday 17th June 18:00-19:30pm

Please note that no prior experience of creative writing is needed.

Following on from this will be a further opportunity for all interested participants to take part in a 120-minute workshop on Friday 25th June, 1.30-3.30pm (Microsoft Teams). The session will involve listening to one another鈥檚 storied accounts of wellbeing, whilst considering together different responses generated for both the writer and the audience.

Those interested in developing the idea of narrative as an event will be invited to share their writing in a 鈥榗all and response鈥 exercise, designed to encourage interplay between author and audience on subject of wellbeing. Writers will receive 1-2-1 feedback to get their creative 鈥榗all鈥 ready for a public event planned for the Autumn Term.

If you are interested in participating the research project, please sign up using the form below.

If you don鈥檛 feel ready to take part in a writing circle but are interested in some of the approaches that will be used in the project, together with ideas of how to get started in Writing Wellbeing explore here.

The same workshop will be repeated on different days and at different times (see list below). Please select one date. If multiple dates are suitable for you, please select all of them and we will get in touch confirming the date of your workshop, depending on availability.
