Reflecting on "Is a Person a Place?" from IATL to BCUR
IATL module Global Connections student Vivienne Ponsford created a stop motion animation exploring the question "Is a person a place?" and was supported by IATL to present at BCUR 2026, University of Glasgow. Making the animation was one of the most rewarding parts of my degree so far, as it brought together academic research with something deeply personal...presenting at BCUR was a particularly special experience. I was nervous as it was a creative presentation, and I felt quite exposed, but the audience's reaction was overwhelmingly positive'

Have your voice heard across Europe!
The IATL Student Research Support team is partnering with an Erasmus+ funded project on Undergraduate Research in Europe — the same initiative helping to launch European versions of our popular event, leading up to a Posters in Brussels showcase later this year.
As part of this project, a team led by Humboldt University in Berlin is exploring how undergraduate students across Europe (including the UK and Ireland) perceive research, researchers, and civic engagement. This is a chance for 91福利 students to make sure your perspectives shape this international study.
If you鈥檇 like to help ensure 91福利 voices are represented, please take a few minutes to complete this short survey:
Your contribution really does make a difference — and it only takes a moment! The survey is currently open until midday on 31st March.

EUTOPIA students at ICUR 2025
A student from Vrije Universiteit Brussel reflects on her international, interdisciplinary experience at this year's ICUR.
We were delighted to read about Isidora Popovic's reflections on her ICUR 2025 experience. As a hybrid conference, ICUR takes place across in person and online platforms - so Isidora was able to join us to present from her home institution, EUTOPIA institution Vrije Universiteit Brussel, as well as using our online conference platform and our programme of student support (including Panel Facilitator mentorship) to connect with like-minded undergraduate researchers from around the world.
Some of our favourite quotes... 鈥淚CUR is an immersive programme of academic development, offering training and mentoring from the moment students submit their abstracts through to their final presentations.鈥 鈥淚t鈥檚 such a great way for students to present their work and explore academic careers. I鈥檇 love to help promote it next year so more people know about it.鈥 Her advice to future applicants? 鈥淒on鈥檛 hesitate. It鈥檚 a really welcoming environment. You鈥檒l learn, you鈥檒l grow, and you鈥檒l meet amazing people along the way.鈥
