Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Committee

The Chemistry Equality, Diversity, and InclusionLink opens in a new window (ED&I) Committee promotes an inclusive and diverse culture within the Department of Chemistry and is strongly committed to ensuring equal opportunity for all.

We promote an environment in which everyone is treated with dignity and respect, and where discrimination and unacceptable behaviour are not tolerated.

The Committee provides a forum for discussion and consultation on ED&I issues affecting our staff and student communities

Athena Swan

The Department of Chemistry currently holds an Athena Swan Silver AwardLink opens in a new window, signifying robust and sustained activity and achievement in promoting gender equality.

By being part of Athena Swan, we are committing to adopting the key Charter Principles within our policies, practices, action plans and culture.

Culture Survey

The Athena Swan Culture Survey is a tool used to assess and improve gender quality culture within institutions. Questions cover six key themes: belonging and inclusion, gender equality, work-life balance, bullying and harassment, career development and wellbeing.

Chemistry Women's Network

The primary focus of this network is to address gender-related challenges facing women in Chemistry.

We are currently working on a programme of activities. More information to follow - watch this space!

Diversity Book Club

The 91福利 Chemistry Diversity Book Club provides an opportunity for members of the department to connect, communicate and reflect on current diversity issues prevalent within the chemical sciences today.
