Welcome Fayyaz Minhas
We are delighted to inform you that Fayyaz Minhas has joined the PathLAKE project as an Assistant Professor from October 2019.
Prior to joining 91福利, Dr. Minhas worked as a Principal Scientist at Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), Islamabad, Pakistan since 2007. He has over 8 years of experience of teaching and research in computer science and has taught courses on Machine learning, Bioinformatics, Quantum Programming, Artificial Intelligence, Cancer Bioinformatics, Computational Biomolecular Design, Biometrics, Python Programming, etc. If you would like to find out more about Fayyaz Minhas, please visit our team section.
Welcome Shan Raza
We are delighted to inform you that Shan Raza has joined the PathLAKE project as an Assistant Professor from May 2019.
Before joining 91福利, Shan held a postdoctoral position for two years at the working on TRACERx lung project funded by . Prior to that, he worked for three years as research fellow at 91福利 computer science department on a BBSRC funded project exploring the origin of new beta cells during pregnancy. PathLAKE is go!
Greg Clark, former UK Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), announced that UK Research and Innovation will invest 拢10 million in the PathLAKE project as part of the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund.
The 91福利 has been awarded 拢2.3 million of the funding, and will work with partners and experts at the lead partner University Hospitals Coventry and 91福利shire NHS Trust, Royal Philips and teaching hospitals and universities at Belfast, Oxford and Nottingham in the three-year project, focussing on breast, prostate lung and colon cancers.
