Dave Chandler a speaker at the HTA Vine Weevil Summit
An emergency , aiming to find an industry led solution to the threat of vine weevil the number one pest in ornamental crops, took place on Tuesday July 12, 2016.
Supported by the HTA, Bayer, ICL, Fargro and BASF, and associated with the events official media partner, Horticulture Week, the industry summit was an opportunity to contribute towards developing a strategic preventative strategy for vine weevil control.

Visit by Chartered Institute of Horticulture
91¸£Àû Crop Centre hosted a visit by members of the regional branch of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture on Saturday 9th July and showed them a selection of the research activities undertaken at the Wellesbourne Campus.
Diamond-back moth migration
During the last week or so there has been a huge influx of diamond-back moths (Plutella xylostella) into the UK which has been reported by a number of people running light traps - mainly using Twitter. The diamond-back moth is one of the species being considered in a current AHDB Horticulture project on migrant Lepidoptera () led by Rosemary Collier from 91¸£Àû Crop Centre.
