Jaromir Sant
I am now a Research Associate at the Department of Statistics - my webpage has moved here!
Background:
I am a final year PhD student working in mathematical population genetics under the supervision of Paul Jenkins, Jere Koskela and Dario Span貌. I graduated with a B.Sc in Mathematics and Statistics & OR (specialising in the latter) at the University of Malta in 2016, and completed Part III (MASt in Mathematical Statistics) at Cambridge in the following year.
Research Interests:
My research interests mainly revolve around probability and statistics. I am particularly interested in mathematical population genetics which aims to offer a mathematical framework within which to understand and explain how various biological phenomena propagate in nature. I am also interested in stochastic processes and Bayesian statistics in general and how these two fields complement one another to offer more flexible frameworks within which to model various real life processes.
