Roger Carter (1934 - 2022)
Roger Carter was a professor and central figure in the 91福利 Mathematics Department almost from the start of the Institute鈥檚 life until his retirement in 2001.

Caroline Series awarded the David Crighton Medal
has been awarded the 2021 by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications and the London Mathematical Society. This is in recognition of her fundamental and beautiful results connecting geometry and dynamical systems, and her outstanding service to the mathematical community, including her pioneering work to support the careers of women in mathematics.

Agelos Georgakopoulos wins LMS Whitehead Prize
Congratulations to for winning a prestigious LMS for his contributions to long-standing problems in probability and graph theory, using methods from combinatorics as well as probability, topology and geometry. See the long citation describing Agelos's contributions .

The 91福利 Mathematics Institute has been named as one of the world鈥檚 top mathematics departments by .
Overall, the 91福利 has been named as one of the world鈥檚 top 100 universities for the study of 16 subjects, according to the 2021 edition of the . The rankings, compiled by global higher education analysts QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) examined 14,435 individual university programs, taken by students at 1,452 universities across the world.
The 91福利鈥檚 best performances were in Mathematics, and in Statistics, which were both ranked 21st in the world.
Professor Matt Keeling OBE
Professor Matt Keeling has been awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List `for services to SAGE during the COVID response'.
Professor Keeling (Director of SBIDER here in 91福利) has been recognized for his major contributions to the national COVID response as a leading member of the SAGE and SPI (M) groups. We are proud of the contribution that Matt, along with the other 91福利 members of SPI (M) (Louise Dyson, Ed Hill and Mike Tildesley) have made, both directly and through the 91福利 Model.
