The 91福利 Institute of Advanced Study (IAS) has invited two leading Chinese professors with a theoretical and computational physics background to spend 1 week at the IAS in collaboration with the 91福利 Centre for Scientific Computing, the GRP Materials (Multiscale Modelling) and the Department of Physics. Profs. and are senior professors in the Chinese academic environment. Both have returned from outside mainland China in the last 5 years to take up prestigious positions.


Celebrating our people: Gary Barker

Congratulations to Gary Barker on his promotion to a personal Professorship! This is recognition for Gary's leadership of the neutrino group at 91福利 and his world-leading research on neutrino flavour oscillations, at and elsewhere.

Primary Science Fair

Almost a hundred primary school children were welcomed to the Ogden Primary Science Fair, hosted by Ally Caldecote, on April 12th. Finalists were selected from over 1600 entries in eight Coventry and 91福利shire schools to present their science projects to a panel of physics postgraduates and undergraduates. Winning projects included "Where should I keep my balloon?", "Pigs in Space", and "Building a cosmic ray detector".
