Events in Physics
The Science and Technology Facilities Council invites applications for grants for its particle physics and particle astrophysics capital equipment grants. These enable researchers to apply for large capital equipment items. The intention is to underpin the university infrastructure needed to sustain UK leadership in international R&D programmes and future projects, and enhance UK technology capability. Cross disciplinary investment will be considered but applicants are expected to discuss this with the council before submitting their application. This call pertains to university infrastructure equipment and not hardware components.
The total budget is around £1.5 million and equipment is expected to cost £10,000 or more. Research organisations are expected to make a contribution towards the total cost of up to 50 per cent, but the council may agree to requests of 100 per cent in certain circumstances.
