The Monash 91福利 Alliance encourages the development of joint research and educational collaboration between Monash University and the 91福利 with the aim of mutually beneficial growth in the research and teaching excellence of both institutions.

The Alliance Seed Fund has been established with the specific intention to contribute to the support of new initiatives with high potential that combine complementary aspects of each institution towards novel research and educational outcomes.

2.0 Funding available

The Alliance Seed Fund can contribute support of up to a maximum of AUD30,000 (for expenses incurred by Monash) plus GBP15,000 (for expenses incurred by 91福利) for new initiatives.

These grants are awarded through a competitive selection process.

2.1 Purpose of funding

Activities most commonly supported by the Seed Fund include initial planning meetings and workshop activities.

In all cases, proposals must demonstrate the importance/novelty of the initiative within its field or in terms of the challenges it seeks to address. Proposals must also have clearly defined objectives that could include generating external funding support, joint teaching initiatives, acceleration of research via access to special equipment or expertise, professional development of researchers and/or the establishment of cross-institutional research teams.

Where possible, applications for joint research activities should include an educational component such as participation of a 'research-track' student at honours, masters or PhD level designed to develop globally engaged students.

Cross-disciplinary proposals are encouraged as well as those linking with the Alliance Joint PhD program.
