This funds research projects that support the onward development and application of wide band-gap semiconductors, and increase capability and capacity in critical areas of underpinning power electronics research. The total budget is worth up to £6 million over three years, which aims to support between three and five projects. The following areas are prioritised:
•switch optimisation;
•heterogeneous integration;
•reliability and health management;
•virtual prototyping;
•converter architectures.
