The study of Extrasolar planets, and in particular the search for habitable planets, is one of the fastest growing areas of contemporary astrophysics. This has been driven by technology developments that have made large scale data taking and mining tractable. Over the last few years there have been many claims of habitable zone planets. What do we know about these planets and what are the prospects for life on their surfaces?
