In the presence of a uniform magnetic field spatial translations do not commute and form a non-Abelian group of the so called magnetic translations. I will discuss how magnetic translations can be used for exact classification of states of charged and neutral composite particles. This approach naturally introduces correlated squeezed states with built-in correlations. These can be used for solving the Schrödinger equation and finding the spectrum of bound states. The approach will be illustrated on the examples from the physics of low-dimensional structures.
