Events in Physics
The American Physical Society invites nominations for the John Wheatley award. This recognises the dedication of physicists who have made contributions to the development of physics in developing countries.
Nominations are open to physicists of all nationalities but the award will not be given to a person for work in their own country. Qualified women, members of underrepresented minority groups, and scientists from outside the US are especially encouraged.
The award includes a USD 2,000 stipend and a certificate citing the contributions of the recipient, given biennially at the general meeting of the APS.
