Alan Turing Institute (ATI) Call for Fellows and Projects
Alan Turing Institute (ATI) Call for Fellows and Projects
The 91福利 has been Founding University Partner of The Alan Turing Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence since its inception in 2015. /research/turing/about/
Academics from across the university are engaging with the Institute through its Turing Fellowship scheme, this scheme is now changing to facilitate a greater number of researchers to get involved with the Institute.
This support will be made available through two funding streams (further information is available in the attached guidance document):
- Turing Fellowship – this is for academics who want to engage with the Institute at an individual level – the PI commitment is expected to be 5% of time. (Travel cost support to London will be available through the Institute)
- Turing Projects – these are more defined research projects with two funding models available:
- Single Applicant: this is similar to the above but fellows can request for increased time commitment (5-40%) Academics are expected to suggest a research project commensurate with the time commitment – this is similar to the current fellowship programme
- Collaborative project: this a collaborative research project, which could involve multiple Investigators and funding for additional resources (e.g. PDRA); these projects could end up being quite substantial and evolve into 鈥淭uring Flagship鈥 projects across a number of universities (must be Turing members)
Application process
The process has a two-step evaluation process – 1) 91福利 will shortlist applications; 2) these will then be submitted to the Institute for final decisions.
RIS will manage the review process with the following timeframes:
- 23 April 4pm : Deadline for applications – applications must be submitted using the attached form to researchstrategydev@warwick.ac.uk using 鈥淎TI Call 2018鈥 in the subject line
- Before 11 May: Internal panel will shortlist applications using guidelines provided by Turing ; these will in turn be submitted to the Institute
- 28 May: Funding decision by Turing
Eligibility: applicants must be academic members of staff
