Location: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/uk-space-agency-announces-new-funding-for-industry

The UK Space Agency, in collaboration with the European Space Agency, and under ESA’s general support technology programme, invites applications for its de-risking technologies development grants. These are offered to the UK space sector to come up with innovative new technology. The purpose is to allow those interested in the programme to propose a project development in their area of interest directly to UK Space Agency and ESA, so that in turn the agencies support some of these new ideas straight away, and where appropriate form a basis for future discussion on support for continuing development of promising ideas.

The grants are aimed at smaller entry level projects, in both upstream and downstream, capable of de-risking technologies. The call excludes any activity proposals targeting opportunities in the satellite telecommunications value chain. There are collaboration opportunities with German companies through this call, but this is not a requirement. Activities proposed must be UK-led. Collaborations must be for technology development work and not consist in mere testing, procurement of equipment or hardware.

Grants are worth up to €200,000. In case of collaboration, the maximum amount remains €200,000.
