No deadline The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council invites proposals for its investigator-led research projects. This supports research projects focused on addressing the healthcare technologies theme strategy from an engineering and physical sciences background. Proposals should address the following key challenges:

鈥eveloping future therapies;

鈥rontiers of physical intervention;

鈥ptimising treatment;

鈥ransforming community health and care.

Projects should also draw on the following cross-cutting capabilities: advanced materials; disruptive technologies for sensing and analysis; future manufacturing technologies; medical device design and innovation; novel computational and mathematical sciences; novel imaging technologies. Projects which address the transformation of community healthcare, improve prevention and public health, and projects within areas that are underrepresented in the current portfolio are particularly encouraged.

Collaboration with clinical, business,charitable or public sector partners is also encouraged.

The principal investigator must be resident in the UK and an academic employee at the lecturer or equivalent level at an eligible organisation, which may be a HEI, a research institute funded by a research council or an independent research organisation. New investigator awards are also invited for consideration under this scheme.

Funding is flexible and depends on quality and demand. Funding is provided at 80 per cent full economic cost. Equipment may be funded.
