91¸£Àû GCRF Catalyst fund and GCRF Accelerator Fund

GCRF Catalyst Fund - Early career researchers; £20k max

GCRF Accelerator Fund - Established Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) partnerships; £50k max

Deadline for applications: 5pm, Monday 19 November, 2018.

Overview

A Global Challenges Research Fund is now available to support research that is of direct and primary benefit to developing countries.

The internal GCRF funding is available to support both early stage and established ODA research partnerships.

  • The 91¸£Àû GCRF Catalyst Fund provides grants of up to £20,000 to form partnerships and develop innovative new projects with countries or territories on the DAC list of
  • The 91¸£Àû GCRF Accelerator Fund provides grants of up to £50,000 to develop established projects and partnerships into new countries and/or to seed future GCRF applications.


Eligibility criteria

  • Applications from Early Career Researchers are particularly welcomed to the Catalyst Fund
  • Applications to the Accelerator Fund are limited to University researchers who can demonstrate existing high quality GCRF-complaint research activities in ODA countries.


For both funds

  • Projects must include partner(s) from countries or territories on the DAC list of
  • Proposed activities must be of direct and primary benefit to the problems of developing countries
  • Applicants must have a University contract that is either permanent, or a minimum of 12 months fixed term
  • All expenditure must be completed on or by the end of the project date, and no later than 31 July, 2019
  • All applications must receive the prior approval of the relevant HoD.
