Theory Seminar: Jason Twamley (Macquarie), Integrated Quantum Technologies
Location: PS1.28
In this overview talk I discuss some recent works where we bring together different physical quantum sub-systems to perform an overall function not possible within an individual sub-system. We look at integrated - or hybrid - quantum machines - that can provide a quantum interface between superconducting quantum computers, machines to achieve the preparation of novel motional states of particles, and quantum machines that have the potential to probe novel physical phenomena such as acceleration radiation, and whether such exotic radiation can be produced in the lab. Finally we will discuss recent experimental work on the magnetic trapping of microdiamonds at low pressures.
