The Royal Academy of Engineering invites applications for its enterprise fellowships. These enable engineering students and UK-based engineers to develop the utility of their innovation by providing them with time, support, training and skills necessary. The fellowship will focus on encouraging the development of their innovation, developing their skills through training and implementation, and passing on the skills they have learned by acting as role models to inspire the next generation of engineering entrepreneurs. Technology must be technology readiness level 4 or above and an engineering or technology innovation. The core aims are to: •bring engineering innovations to market for a wider public benefit; •improve the skills of the awardee, through training and application; •develop role models of entrepreneurship; •develop a wider alumni network to further the aims of the hub. Researchers wishing to spinout a company from a university or research institute, recent graduates wishing to create a company and international PhD students wishing to spin out or start up may apply. Researchers must be based at a UK HEI or research institute and hold a PhD or equivalent experience. PhD students must receive their degree before the start of the fellowship. Recent graduates must be based in the UK and be currently studying for, or have been awarded their first degree after 1 January 2013. International PhD students must be non-UK citizens studying at a UK university or research institute and receive their degree before the start of the fellowship. Fellowships are worth up to £60,000 for researchers and recent graduates and up to £50,000 for international PhD students. |
