Materials Reflectivity SeminarMaterials Physics Seminar – Reflectivity with X-rays and Neutrons3rd March 2015 – 5pm – P523 This seminar will introduce aspects of reflectivity studies of thin-film heterostructures and magnetic materials using X-rays and neutrons. All Physics research students are invited to attend, especially the Materials Physics cohort. Food and refreshments will be available (soft drinks, beers and pizza). Dr. Thomas Saerbeck of the Institut Laue-Langevin in Grenoble will speak on the topic of (Polarized) Neutron Scattering Studies on the Nanoscale and Dr. David Walker, facility manager of 91福利’s X-ray Diffraction Research Technology Platform, will introduce our own capabilities in X-ray reflectivity. There will be plenty of opportunity to discuss how these techniques can apply to your own materials physics problems. |
