How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

EOI deadline is 10th February, with applications through JeS 2nd March 2017.

This is the second of three calls planned under the "UK-China Joint Programme in Low Carbon Innovation" MOU between EPSRC and NSFC. This programme builds on a successful history of collaboration between EPSRCNERC and NSFC across a range of topics.

The programme contributes to a broader strategic portfolio of energy research including the RCUK Energy Programme and EPSRC's ambition to develop the next generation of technologies for the safe, secure, cheap and efficient provision of clean energy, and falls under NERC's 'Benefiting from natural resources' strategic theme. Similarly NSFC supports a range of energy research both nationally and internationally and supports basic research that meets the objectives of the NSFC 13th five-year plan, including promoting innovation and economic development through research.

Applications are invited focusing on one or more of the following areas:

  1. Array infrastructure and network resilience
  2. Integrated offshore natural resource systems
  3. High efficiency ORE-to-wire design with scaled modelling
  4. Building resilience against extreme events into ORE systems
  5. Natural resource characterisation to support development of large ORE arrays

Up to £4M is available to support UK researchers for up to five awards in the order of up to £800K (80% fEC), with a duration period of three years. It will be matched with NSFC funding of up to 3M RMB per project to support Chinese researchers.

All joint proposals must be received via both the NSFC e-submission system by 16:00 Beijing Time, and the Research Councils' Joint e-System (Je-S) by 16:00 GMT on 02 March 2017.

An Expression of Interest must be submitted to EPSRC or NERC before 16.00 on 10 February 2017; applicants that do not register with their intent will have their applications rejected.

Frequently emerging from core independent and/or funded research is the opportunity to pursue additional research activities. Supporting research related public-engagement, impact, project continuation plans and further collaborative initiatives etc., this programme provides resources to enable the development of new outputs from an interdisciplinary project and where appropriate, involves an international and/or cross-sectoral team. There are three calls per year for the Delivering Results scheme with a in each term. Next deadline 28th April 2017. Further details and guidance are found in the document.

Providing a forum to explore emerging research concepts, partnerships and ‘blue sky’ topics, the Developing Research Ideas programme offers a number of mechanisms to scope and test out initiatives at the embryonic stage of development. Support is available to host meetings, networks and external collaborators to address exploratory, interdisciplinary research ideas. There are three calls per year for the Developing Ideas scheme with a in each term. Next deadline 28th April 2017. Further details and guidance are found in the document.

This programme provides resources to bring together collaborators in the process of developing a funding proposal that addresses an interdisciplinary research question. The funding proposal should involve either a major UK consortium and/or international partners and must be led by a 91福利-based academic. There are three calls per year for the Advancing Grants scheme with a in each term. (Next deadline 28th April 2017) Further details and guidance are found in the document.
