The following information is subject to change. *** The Science and Technology Facilities Council and the Royal Observatory in Edinburgh, supported by the University of Edinburgh, European Space Agency, UK Space Agency and CERN, invite applications for the business incubation centre – Higgs centre for innovation. This supports start-ups working in space-related and big data analytics areas. Proposals must have a demonstrable connection to space, particle-physics or another STFC subject area, including big data, data analytics or astronomy. Companies must be independent UK-registered start-ups or early-stage SMEs within five years of foundation. The founding entrepreneurs must own more than 50 per cent of the company. Up to 12 companies will be supported. Each company may receive a grant worth over £40,000 for product development and access to a laboratory, clean room and product testing facilities and technical expertise. Additionally, companies receive access to business support and training. |
