How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

The Projects Peer Review Panel (PPRP) is responsible for the assessment of projects that are considered to have significant scientific priority in particle physics, nuclear physics, astronomy and particle astrophysics.

The Panel assess new large/complex novel projects (PPRP large projects) and smaller R&D projects (PRD - Project Research and Development).

PPRP Large Projects are major new projects such as participation in new experiments or missions, the development of new instruments or upgrades to existing detectors.

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, in collaboration with the Natural Environment Research Council and the Economic and Social Research Council, with support from the Arts and Humanities Research Council, invites proposals for their call for networks on decision making and uncertainty. This supports the creation of up to two networks of researchers from different disciplines relating to the topic of decision making under uncertainty, and includes support for feasibility projects.

EOI midday 27th June

full proposal 21st July The aim is to develop and build widespread linkages between disciplines related to the theme of the call and grow a multi-disciplinary community in this space. The networks will be expected to work with user organisations. Proposals may address the following topics: algorithms, data science, decision making, sensors, forecasting, risk management, financial regulation, consumer behaviour, heuristics, macroeconomic modelling, multi-scale or multi-physics modelling, engineering design, visualisation, large scale manufacturing, safety and security threats, climate change, energy challenges and natural hazards.

STFC has announced a call for applications to the Projects Research and Development scheme (PRD). Applications should be submitted by the deadline of July 21st 2016 and will be reviewed at a meeting of the PPRP Panel on October 25/26th 2016. It is expected that successful application grants will start no earlier than 1 April 2017.

The PRD scheme is intended to develop the capabilities needed to underpin UK science and technology leadership in future Science and Technology Facilities Council projects and gives industry the opportunity, in collaboration with approved research organisations, to apply directly to the STFC for funding for research and development.

The PRD scheme provides funding for research and development projects which enable STFC to deliver the science programme objectives in the areas of particle physics, particle astrophysics, nuclear physics and astronomy. Please note that proposals for project specific R&D, or small upgrades for space instruments and missions, fall within the remit of the .
