EPSRC - Resource allocation panel – open access to tier 2The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council invites applications for its resource allocation panel – open access to tier 2 call. This provides open access to five tier 2 high performance computing facilities for adventurous highrisk, high-reward projects that will benefit from the diversity of computing architectures available at tier 2. The facilities in question are Cirrus, GW4, CSD3, HPC Midlands +, and JADE. Eligible projects include: •short computational projects that do not warrant a full grant application; •UK-led collaborative projects with international or industry partners; •joint applications from students with proven HPC experience and their PIs; •projects that link consecutive standard grant applications or that aid the preparation of a grant or fellowship application; •extended feasibility studies and trialing application developments at scale; •high-risk, high-reward projects that would benefit from using novel architectures. Individuals eligible to hold a full EPSRC grant may apply. Students wishing to access HPC resources through this route must obtain commitment for support by an eligible PI. HEIs, research council institutes and independent research organisations are eligible. Applications can request computing resource for a maximum duration of one year. |

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, through its resource allocation panel, invites proposals for top-up grants for the Advanced Research Computing High End Resource. These enable investigators on existing EPSRC grants to access ARCHER for a maximum period of two years in order to meet their current grant objectives. Computing resources on ARCHER are awarded in kilo-allocation units, with one kAU representing a measure of relative performance of ARCHER based on a range of benchmarks compared to previous national services. Only named investigators on existing EPSRC grants may apply. |

We invite leading data scientists from any country or discipline to become a Visiting Researcher at The Alan Turing Institute. . The deadline for applications is Thursday 22 March 2018 midday/12:00pm GMT Scope: The aim of the Visiting Researcher Programme is to generate collaborations, facilitate knowledge exchange, and explore new or emerging research topics in data science. We are welcome applications from researchers with an interest in advancing the strategic priorities of the Turing. While they are in residence, Visiting Researchers will be expected to take part in workshops and seminars, and work closely with Turing researchers to contribute to research projects, share knowledge, and develop partnerships in areas for potential long-term collaboration. Eligibility: Leading researchers may apply from any institution, anywhere in the world, to undertake excellent data science research here at the Turing. |
