The Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 invites applications for its industrial fellowships. These aim to encourage profitable innovation and creativity in British industry by supporting research leading to a patented product or process in conjunction with a PhD, EngD or industrial doctorate. Applicants should have a first level degree in engineering, science or medicine, and normally be within five years of degree graduation. They should have identified research or a development topic leading to a patent, product or process in conjunction with a higher academic award. Applicants should be either employed or sponsored in the UK by a British-based company. Employed applicants should be able to demonstrate an established link between their employing company and appropriate staff at a UK university; doctoral applicants should be in the first or second year of a UK university-based doctoral programme strongly tied to industry. |
