How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

EPSRC is holding a one day workshop to understand the current, and future, capacity and capability for engineering and physical sciences research to deliver a waste free plastics economy. The workshop will be held in Bristol on Friday 13 July 2018.

The workshop aims to understand the current research landscape relevant to the plastics economy, and identify potential research opportunities and challenges in plastics design, manufacture and utilisation that can drive world-leading solutions.

The workshop will bring together researchers from across a broad range of relevant disciplines, and will draw in expertise from UK Research and Innovation partner councils to ensure challenges take account of the need for multidisciplinary working within a broader research landscape. This workshop complements similar workshops held by other Councils within UK Research and Innovation.

The aims of the workshops are to:

  • seek input on key challenges and opportunities and the role that UK Research and Innovation can play in facilitating research in these areas
  • facilitate cross-disciplinary networking and encourage future collaborations

The research councils would like to encourage a broad range of researchers to apply to attend. Although the workshop focus will be on the physical sciences, engineering and manufacturing disciplines, applications are welcomed from researchers in other disciplines whose work is closely aligned with the challenges in this remit. We particularly welcome applications from individuals with experience of working across the interfaces between disciplinary fields.

Those wishing to attend the workshop should complete the Expression of Interest (EoI) form on this page. Places are limited and delegates will be selected based on how their research could contribute to the challenges of the future of plastics, and we will look to ensure a diverse representation of organisation, research interests and career stage in the delegates.

The Expression of Interest will close at 17:00 on 26 June 2018, with confirmation sent to you by 29 June 2018.
