How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

The mission of the UK Quantum Technology Hub for Sensors and Metrology is to translate state-of-the-art lab technology into deployable practical devices. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, with academics and leading companies working together to translate research into marketable applications.

We are an international centre of excellence bringing together world-leading physicists, engineers, industry and end-users. To support our mission we have a partnership fund of £5.2 million. A majority of this resource will be used to fund activities in two key areas: end-user driven demonstration activities and new academic collaborations.

The programme will be continuously open. The first deadline is 31 January 2016, with subsequent rounds closing on 30 April 2016, 31 July 2016, and 31 January 2017 respectively. Proposals will be evaluated and selected to receive funding at quarterly panel review meetings following standard .

The EPSRC Healthcare Technologies theme invites applications to an initiative designed to create a cohort of the most promising future leaders who will develop new research capabilities across the EPSRC portfolio to address unmet healthcare needs. This call is intended to support early career researchers (ECRs) to develop a personal programme of high quality, creative and multidisciplinary research; and to build and grow their research group. A budget of £7-10million is available to support approximately 7-10 personal awards of up to five years' duration.

This call seeks to enable ECRs to realise their transformative research vision which addresses long term health challenges, through a flexible and high profile award. Applicants to this call should have demonstrable leadership potential, both in terms of team leadership and research field leadership, and they should be strongly supported by their host institution. EPSRC seeks applicants who want to revolutionise healthcare technologies both through the development of transformative fundamental research and through the integration of approaches which ensure user needs are considered. Furthermore, applicants should seek to design their research to minimise the barriers to the implementation of its outputs in a healthcare context.

The Higher Education Partnership Programme – supported by the and the UK Government through the – was established by the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2016, following the successful pilot scheme, . This helped to address the engineering skills shortage in sub-Saharan Africa and to showcase engineering’s role in driving economic development in the region.

By forming and strengthening relationships between academia and industry, the programme aims to ensure that the higher education system in sub-Saharan Africa produces engineers with the skills and knowledge required to meet the needs of industry and to tackle local challenges.
