Professor Emily Henderson Presents DEAR Centre’s Work at Research England Team Meeting
On 12th March 2025, Professor Emily Henderson was invited by , Director of Research at Research England, to present at a Research England team meeting on the work of the Doctoral Education and Academia Research Centre (DEAR). This invitation followed Professor Henderson’s participation in Research England’s visit to 91¸£Àû in December 2023.
In her presentation, Professor Henderson provided an in-depth introduction to DEAR, highlighting:
· DEAR’s Specialism in Doctoral Education and the Academic Profession – positioning the Centre as a leading hub for research in this field.
· Strategic Aims – including the development of a dynamic specialist research environment for investigating doctoral education and academia.
· Thematic Areas – focusing on research culture and futures, methodological innovation, and institutional policies.
· Current Research and Projects – exploring key areas of doctoral education and professional academic work.
The hybrid meeting brought together 20-25 members of Research England, including the Executive Chair. The presentation was well received, generating discussions on DEAR’s research agenda and its work on and the .
