Promoting Mathematics Resilience Conference
4th-5th March 2016
This conference is aimed at all those involved in supporting learning of mathematics. It aims to bring together people working to promote mathematical resilience in learners, whether that be as teachers or those in an educational institution, or parents or others at home.
BERA Research Commissions
Earlier this year BERA put out an open call to members to submit proposals for the new BERA Research Commissions, with Jo Trowsdale, Principle Teaching Fellow in CES being involved in one of the three winning proposals.
Research Career Development Fellowships
The 91福利 Integrative Synthetic Biology (WISB) centre is looking for ambitious postdoctoral researchers who wish to begin development of an independent career in synthetic biology. Fellowships are available in the following research areas:
1. Ethical, Legal and Societal Aspects (ELSA) of synthetic biology
(x 1 post) fixed term for 3 years
2. Synthetic Biology (experimental / theoretical)
(x 4 posts) fixed term for 4 years

Graduate Research Seminars
CES will be running a series of Graduate Research Seminars over the next few months, all staff and students welcome.
More funding awarded for Closing the Gap projects
Following on from the money awarded by 91福利shire County Council last month, director of the Centre for Education Studies Ian Abbott has been given a further £10,000 to undertake a similar education evaluation project for Peterborough City Council.
