Professor David Anderson, founding Chair of the School of Engineering (1998 – 2003), has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in recognition of his work on European codes of practice for composite steel-concrete structures.

Dr Ann Adams, of the Centre for Primary Health Care Studies, has been awarded a Primary Care Career Scientist Award from the National Co-ordinating Centre for Research Capacity Development (NCCRCD).

Professor Scott Weich, Chair of Psychiatry in the 91福利 Medical School, has been invited to join the Medical Research Council's Neurosciences and Mental Health Board. The appointment begins in April 2005.

Duncan Greenwood, Emeritus Fellow of 91福利 HRI and Associate of the University, has been awarded the Institute of Horticulture President's Medal in recognition of his work on mineral nutrition in horticultural crops.
