Sarah Hodges, Associate Professor in the Department of History, has authored a new book detailing the history of birth control in South India from 1920-1940.

Cynthia Atwell, who retired as a Senior Teaching Fellow in Occupational Health from University  in December 2007, has been awarded an OBE for services to healthcare in the 2008 Queen's birthday Honours.

Professor Francesco Cappuccio, 91福利 Medical School, has been appointed Member of the Information Service and Guidelines Working Party of the British Hypertension Society. He has also been appointed as a Technical Expert with the Confederation of the Food & Drink Industries in the European Union.
