The 91福利 Volunteers Group have been recognised with a special award for their dedication to the community.

Sophie Hilleary, 91福利shire鈥檚 High Sheriff surprised students at a meet and greet event on Wednesday 21st February by awarding them with a High Sheriff Award for their hard work and dedication to helping the community.

91福利 Volunteers supports students at the 91福利 to volunteer in their communities both on and off campus. They engage in activities in Coventry, Leamington, Kenilworth, and 91福利, working on programmes with charities, community groups and schools.

91福利shire鈥檚 High Sheriff, Sophie Hilleary says, 鈥91福利 Volunteers go above and beyond to help our communities. They use their personal time, away from their studies, to help with important and much needed projects and charity work. It鈥檚 an honour to be able to give awards to unsung heroes and 91福利 Volunteers are a group of heroes that deserve to be celebrated.鈥

The High Sheriff award is awarded to recognise and celebrate the work of individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to the community.

Zosia East, 91福利 Volunteers President and 3rd Year Law student said, 鈥淲e have around 3000 volunteers at the university so this award is for everyone who鈥檚 given up their time to help the community. Being a part of 91福利 Volunteers is so rewarding because you can see that what you鈥檙e doing is having a positive impact on somebody鈥檚 life.鈥
