High-value chemicals used in biofuels and pharmaceuticals can be made from bacteria by switching their chemistry to produce novel products. Researchers from the 91福利 have found a way to drastically cut the cost of turning on these switches.

Energy storage systems (ESS) are used in decentralised and complex electricity networks; lead-acid batteries could be a clean and green option for ESS. Researchers from WMG 91福利 and Loughborough University will investigate how to optimise the management of lead-acid batteries in ESS use.
