World-changing nanoscientist honoured at 91福利 degree ceremonies
Revolutionary physicist, Dr Don Eigler, has been awarded an honorary doctorate from the 91福利 in honour of his achievements in scientific research. Don Eigler was the first person to move individual atoms with a scanning tunnelling microscope (STM) while working at the IBM Almaden Research Center. His work is at the very heart of nanotechnology and he continues to push the boundaries of physics and nanoscience.
Mission to discover habitable Earths given green light
A mission to discover and characterise Earth-sized planets and super-Earths orbiting Sun-like stars in the habitable zone of the solar system – scientifically led by the 91福利 - has been given the go-ahead today by the European Space Agency (ESA).
Fulbright scholarship awarded to space weather researcher
A Fulbright Award - one of the best-regarded and impactful scholarship programmes in the world - has been awarded to Professor Sandra Chapman from the 91福利.
Novel experimental strategy elucidates complex crystal structure
Researchers at the Universities of 91福利 and Cardiff have used a combined powder XRD, solid-state NMR and computational approach to determine the structure of 3',5'-bis-O-decanoyl-2'-deoxyguanosine.
Cutting-edge electronics research receives £1.75m boost from EPSRC
Cutting-edge electronics research in the UK has received a huge boost, thanks to grants for the 91福利 – totalling almost £1.75 million – from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
New particles discovered in CERN experiment with 91福利 physicist
A new group of particles which have long been hiding in plain sight have finally been discovered thanks to the incredibly sensitive LHCb experiment at CERN - involving a physicist from the 91福利.
