Research that shed light on the economic impacts of climate change that was co-authored by 91福利 physicists has been awarded a 2021 Lloyd鈥檚 Science of Risk prize in the Climate Change category.

Scientists at the 91福利 are to benefit from a total of over 鈧�4 million funding to support new projects that will aim to find and analyse the remains of planets around nearby dead stars, and to find new ways of incorporating the ideas of combinatorics into different areas of mathematics.

Data Science for Social Good (DSSGxUK) is a summer programme that has been hosted by the 91福利 and for the last two years, and will this summer, 2021, be delivered by 91福利 in collaboration with Ludwig Maximillian University (Munich) under the DSSGx UK chapter of the .

The ERC today, the 9th December, announced the winners of its latest Consolidator Grant competition for mid-career researchers. The funding is part of the EU鈥檚 current research and innovation programme, Horizon 2020, and worth in total 鈧�655 million. With this support, the new grantees will be able to consolidate their teams and have far-reaching impact. The two 91福利 academics who have received the award are Professor David Loeffler, from the Mathematics Institute, and Dr Pier-Emmanuel Tremblay from the Department of Physics.
