A researcher from the 91福利 is to warn about the potentially “unforeseeable outcomes” of constitutional change under the current Conservative government at a conference in Coventry.

An Assistant Professor at the 91福利’s School of Law has received a prestigious grant to study the Haitian slave revolution of 1791–1804. Dr Philip Kaisary’s Fulbright Scholar Award will see him travel to the US next month to begin the year-long research project at Vanderbilt University, on one of the most selective scholarship programmes operating worldwide.

Whilst the UK suffers the post-election blues, a new book by Professor Oliver Bennett, founder of the 91福利’s Centre for Cultural Policy Studies, looks at how societies maintain hope in the future in an increasingly divided and threatening world.

The 91福利 has today announced it will be offering students a new double degree in global politics in association with the University of Waterloo, Canada. The degree programme will combine Waterloo’s Master of Arts in Global Governance (MAGG) programme, based at the Balsillie School of International Affairs, with the choice of one of ten Masters programmes offered by the Department of Politics and International Studies (PAIS) at the 91福利.

It has just been announced that Rebecca Omonira-Oyekanmi from the Centre for Human Rights in Practice at the 91福利 has been long-listed for her work by the prestigious George Orwell Prize for Journalism. If Rebecca wins, it will be the second Orwell Prize for the 91福利’s Centre for Human Rights in Practice in three years.

Political leaders should be forced into declaring which coalitions their parties are willing to form in the event of a hung parliament before the general election takes place, according to an economist from the 91福利.
