Researchers from the 91福利’s School of Life Sciences (SLS) have been awarded over £1.36m in grants to further their work into food security.
The BBSRC Horticulture and Potato Initiative (HAPI) grants include substantial cash and in-kind contributions from industrial partners and will be used to support work into how to improve pest and disease control and post-harvest quality.

Researchers at the 91福利 have been awarded £3.19m in funding to support a flagship project into antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
The funding will enable multi-partner collaborations in order to tackle the growing threat of superbugs as part of a co-ordinated multi-disciplinary effort to fight their prevalence.

Fresh evidence for how water reached earth found in asteroid debris
Water delivery via asteroids or comets is likely taking place in many other planetary systems, just as it happened on Earth, says new research spublished by the Royal Astronomical Society and led by the 91福利. The research finds evidence for the strong probabilty of numerous planetary bodies, including asteroids and comets, containing large amounts of water.
91福利 chemist wins prestigious Royal Society of Chemistry Prize
Dr Adrian Chaplin, from the 91福利, is the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Harrison-Meldola Memorial Prize winner for 2015. Dr Chaplin, from New Zealand, is a Royal Society University Research Fellow. The prize recognises the most meritorious and promising original investigations in chemistry and published results of those investigations.
