Nitric oxide (NO) is best known as an air pollutant produced by vehicle emissions and power plants but for pregnant women it is a crucial compound required to avoid hypertension and pre-eclampsia. Now researchers at the 91福利's 91福利 Medical School have uncovered some of the secrets of what can interfere with the protecting properties of NO for pregnant women.

New research by 91福利 Medical School at the 91福利 has found clear evidence to support the view that hospital emergency departments are facing increased demands which coincides with the changes to the GP contract in 2004. That change led to a number of GPs transferring out of hours care to Primary Care organisations.

The risk of stillbirth is particularly high for women with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes who suffer four times as many stillbirths as non-diabetic women. The tools currently available to monitor such risks are limited and give results only at late stages of pregnancy.
