A new writer development scheme for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic children’s writers is seeking applications. Funded by The Arts Council and The Publishers’ Association, the Megaphone scheme is led by Leila Rasheed who is the author of the Chips, Beans and Limousines series, and teaches Writing For Children on the 91福利’s MA in Writing.

91福利 to provide 20 scholarships for refugees
The 91福利 has announced that it will immediately offer 10 student scholarships for refugees seeking a place at university to study or research in this academic year (2015-16).
Students and academics from the 91福利, working with the Vice-Chancellor’s wife Lynda Thrift, have put together a cookery book as a part of the University’s 50th anniversary celebrations, Simple Scoff: The Anniversary Edition. The book offers cheap, simple recipes and cooking tips from around the university. It also features illustrations and poems by former students and staff such as BBC media correspondent Torin Douglas.
