Introduction to the Components Editor

The Components Editor is our editor for creating and editing content of web pages within SiteBuilder. Add components, including images, news feeds and layout blocks, to your page along with text and tables, configuring and repositioning components to create your own custom layout.

Accessibility

The need for 91福利 to comply with accessibility legislation and improve the accessibility of existing content on the website drove the development of the Components Editor. The editor provides an accessibility pane which details issues with the content on your page as you edit it, along with options for fixing them. We will expand the range of issues the editor can detect in future releases, but it's not possible to automatically detect all issues so manual checking is also necessary - see our accessibility checklist.

Creating new pages

When you create a new blank page, you have a choice of SiteBuilder page templates. You can edit surrounding content of template pages, for example if you want to add important information to a calendar or news page independent of the dynamic content.

Converting legacy editor pages to the Components Editor

Although we have retired the old visual (Classic) editor and raw editor, we do not require conversion to the Components Editor unless content is being updated. To edit pages created with these legacy editors, you'll first need to convert them to use the Components Editor instead.

The conversion process automates, as far as possible, transitioning the page content into a format editable within the Components Editor. You can then check how your content looks, make changes and preview the page before publishing it, which completes the conversion process. Selecting Cancel within the Components Editor cancels the page conversion, but will also undo any changes you were attempting to make.

After conversion, you can use the History tab to view previous versions of the page, as usual, but it's only possible to restore versions published using the Components Editor.
