A re-discovered stash of photos from a young women鈥檚 charity

This scene by the River Leam during a weekend camp at Church Farm, Old Milverton is from one of eighty photographs which were left with other records in the Young Women鈥檚 Christian Association College at Selly Oak in Birmingham when the property was sold to the German-Speaking Congregation in 1978. Mrs Dorothee Muller, whose late father was the Congregation鈥檚 minister at the time, kindly donated them to us in February 2020. They depict YWCA activities and premises at home and abroad during and just after the Second World War.

New student curated exhibition

The latest exhibition at the MRC has been curated by students from the module FR 256: The Right in France from the Dreyfus Affair to Le Pen, convened by Dr Jessica Wardhaugh. The exhibition is titled 'Occupied France: Collaboration, Resistance, Remembrance' and includes a wide range of items, from reports and correspondence to postcards and memorabilia. The exhibition will be on until late April and is open to all.
