This year’s theme is Heritage in a Changing Economy - explore how culture, diversity, and innovation thrive together in Yunnan.
Alongside Hong Kong, delegates will experience three cities: Kunming (昆明), Dali (大理) and Lijiang (麗江) in Yunnan, regions where history and acceleration coexist in striking ways. As a strategic node within the Belt and Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, Yunnan offers more than economic relevance; it presents a living question: how can cultural depth and diversity endure amid rapid transformation? Home to rich minority cultures and globally recognised efforts in intangible cultural heritage preservation, Yunnan is also emerging as a frontier of sustainable and inclusive development. This year also coincides with the 90th anniversary of the Long March which provides a moment both for commemoration and reflection.
Meet intangible cultural heritage, visit minority villages, and learn from Yunnan’s innovative green and inclusive development. Reflect on identity, development, and global responsibility; discover your role as a youth leader
