DESCRIPTION:The US-UK Fulbright Commission is pleased to announce the ope
 ning of the 2020-21 Postgraduate and Scholar Awards for UK citizens. Ful
 bright Awards provide generous grants for study\, research and teaching 
 in the United States. Approximately 40 grants will be offered for the 20
 20-21 academic year\, covering close to 30 categories\, including the Al
 l-Disciplines Award\, which can be used to support postgraduate study\, 
 research or lecturing in any subject at any accredited US higher educati
 on institution. Our partner awards provide funding to study or research 
 at specific universities or within particular disciplines or sectors. Ne
 w this year\, we are able to offer the BAFTA Scholarship\, in partnershi
 p with the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. This scholarship
  will provide funding for UK students to pursue a master’s degree in fil
 m or in a discipline related to the practical art forms of the moving im
 age at any accredited US university. We are also pleased to offer severa
 l Awards with the Welsh Government\, including grants to support a maste
 r’s degree in any discipline\, a semester-long project for a visiting st
 udent researcher and the Wales Public Sector Award\, which will allow an
  individual working in the public sector of Wales to conduct research or
  assess best practice. We encourage applications from students of all ba
 ckgrounds to apply for Fulbright Awards. As part of our commitment to in
 creasing participation of under-represented groups and continuing fair a
 ccess\, the Fulbright Opportunity Fund will be available for the first t
 ime in the 2020-21 application cycle. This fund is designed to provide f
 inancial support for students who are selected to receive a Fulbright Aw
 ard\, but who cannot afford to fully fund their US study after exhaustin
 g all options to find funding. Maria Balinska\, Executive Director of th
 e US-UK Fulbright Commission\, said: "The Fulbright is more than just an
  academic grant – it is a transformative learning experience\, an opport
 unity to immerse oneself in American culture and membership in a communi
 ty of exceptional global changemakers that will last a lifetime. As the
