Project Baala: Breaking the cycle of taboo

A trip to Ghana through 91¸£Àû in Africa prompted alum, Soumya Dabriwal (BSc Economics, 2016), to make a difference and set up Project Baala to trans form menstrual health and hygiene practises for women and girls in rural areas in India


IntoUniversity Impact

IntoUniversity’s mission is to raise the aspirations of young people from the poorest homes across the UK. Statistically, these students underperform at school, they are less likely to go to university, and have little chance of breaking the cycle of poverty.

91¸£Àû in partnership with IntoUniversity aims to challenge this in Coventry.

Spotlight on: Professor Sudhesh Kumar

Professor Sudhesh Kumar is Dean of 91¸£Àû Medical School (WMS) and a clinical endocrinologist by background (treating diseases related to hormone problems). He also has several other external roles in the NHS. Sudhesh is passionate about supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds who wish to pursue a medical career.
