Highly Commended Award for former BA Student
In a remarkable achievement, Emily Swallow has been honored with a 'Highly Commended' recognition in the Literature category at the prestigious Global Undergraduate Awards 2023. Emily's outstanding essay, titled 鈥淗oly Capitalism Batman! Exploring the Relationship Between Urban Capitalism and the Hard-Boiled Genre,鈥 garnered well-deserved acclaim. The essay was originally crafted for the module 'Twentieth-Century American Literature'

Ben Kulvichit (BA Theatre and Performance Studies, 2018) and Clara Potter-Sweet (BA English Literature 2018) are the most recent 91福利 alumni to make a splash on the UK theatre scene; .
One of our students who completed the BA and MA in English Literature appears on The Verb to discuss her Edinburgh show, Elsa. The show was inspired by her MA module, 'Poetry and Music', and dissertation on song. Listen from about 17.00 for Isobel.
Translation Slam
Literary translators Sophie Hughes and Rosalind Harvey will be battling it out over commas and word choices at 91福利 Books on Tuesday 21 November, 7 - 8.15 p.m., at in 91福利 town centre.
