The UK Space Agency invites proposals for its space for all community award scheme. This aims to help members of the UK space community harness the inspirational value of space in education and outreach. The scheme will support activities that: •capitalise on the inspirational value of space to engage relevant audiences; •demonstrate new techniques that can be repeated for larger audiences; •enable a space-related element for a larger activity; •develop or deliver space-related curriculum enrichment activities; •deliver activities to promote careers in the space sector. Activities include conferences, workshops, lectures, pilot outreach or education projects. Individuals or organisations, including schools, universities, research councils, UK Space Agency partners, charities, trusts and companies, including non-profits, are eligible to apply. The total budget is £40,000. Awards are worth up to £10,000 each. Funding may be used to cover all types of expenses including contributions to salaries, costs of materials, travel and subsistence. |

The Leverhulme Trust invites applications for its research fellowships. These enable experienced researchers to conduct a programme of research in any discipline. Exception to area of interest includes research that is of direct relevance to studies of disease, illness and disabilities in humans and animals, as well as research that intends to inform clinical practice or the development of medical applications. Applicants must be resident in the UK at the time of application, and must be able to demonstrate experience and academic background sufficient to confirm their ability to complete the proposed research. They may not be registered for a degree, for doctoral studies, or for professional or vocational qualifications. Awards are not limited to those holding appointments in higher education. Fellowships are worth up to £50,000 each for a period between three and 24 months. Funding covers research expenses, and a contribution towards replacement costs or loss of earnings. |

The Leverhulme Trust invites applications for its international academic fellowships. These enable established researchers to spend a period of time in one or more research centres outside the UK in order to develop new knowledge, skills and ideas. Awards may be used for the following purposes: •observing and learning groundbreaking techniques or practices; •developing new lines of research through overseas collaboration; •making discipline-hopping excursions into new areas of research; •developing innovations in teaching; •exchanging ideas. Applications are considered in all subject areas except research that is of direct relevance to the studies of disease, illness and disabilities in humans and animals, and research that intends to inform clinical practice or the development of medical applications. Applicants must have held an established post at a UK institution of higher education, or in a museum, art gallery or comparable institution, for at least three years, and must be resident in the UK at the time of application. They may not be registered for a degree, for doctoral studies, or for professional or vocational qualifications. Fellowships are worth up to £40,000 each for a period of between three and 12 months. Eligible costs include reasonable replacement cover whilst the fellow is overseas; travel to and within the overseas country or countries, a maintenance grant to meet the increased expense of living overseas, and essential research costs. |
