These enable UK and Chinese PhD students and their supervisors to spend a period of study at HEIs in China or the UK. The aim is to promote the research capacity of PhD students, to build UK-China institutional exchanges and collaborations that benefit future students and to strengthen the UK-China links in research and innovation. The focus areas for research include: •health and life sciences; •food and water security; •environmental technologies; •e²Ô±ð°ù²µ²â; •u°ù²ú²¹²Ô¾±²õ²¹³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô; •education and creative economy for economic development and social welfare. UK or Chinese nationals who are currently enrolled in a PhD programme at an accredited HEI or research institutions in the UK or China respectively may apply. Applicants from the UK should be from an institution with strong research record in the focus areas. Applicants must find host institutions in their target country and UK students studying in China or vice versa are not eligible to apply. Grants cover tuition fees at the host institution and support worth up to £9,100 for up to one year for UK PhD students. Support is towards visa fees, air fares, tuition fees, medical insurance, accommodation and a monthly stipend in China. PhD supervisors may receive up to £4,100 towards visa fees, airfares, medical insurance, accommodation and a daily stipend in China for a visit up to four weeks to support their students. |
